How the Enquirer was made aware of the DRA

Of 8 enquiries received, solicitors referred 3 to the DRA. A further 2 became aware of the DRA through their reading of Oilcode. Two enquirers were referred to the DRA by the SSA while another had heard of the service via word of mouth. One enquirer contacted our office after visiting the DRA website. A further enquirer was aware of the DRA through the system they are part of.

Emerging Trends

While this period has been relatively quiet in terms of enquiries and mediation requests, our visits to and conversations with various industry groups have indicated a level of industry comfort with the DRA role and with the existence of our office as a “safety net” should a dispute arise.

At this point in time it would appear that the industry is awaiting the outcomes of the Code Review. It will be interesting to note these outcomes and any uptake of enquiries to the DRA that may result. These outcomes will provide opportunities for more promotion of the DRA services.

Identification of Systemic Problems Faced by the Petroleum Industry

We have not identified any such problems at this stage.
